Live Bands for Charity Events - Should Bands Work For Free?

Charity events such as summer balls are extremely popular these days, quite often the event will end with a headline band to finish off the evening and so we're regularly in touch with various charities and foundations about bands and entertainment.

It's always good to know that an event is for a good cause and bands will more often than not try and do everything possible to minimise their costs to make the event as successful as possible. By the same token we also try to make clients aware that the musicians we deal with do have a living to make and whilst there may be local up and coming bands who are willing to play for free in return for promotion, the majority of our musicians and bands are professionals and rely on the wages they receive from gigs as a large part of their income.

It's the role of the The Musicians Union to look after the welfare of musicians in the UK and they've also brought up the issue at conferences in the past.

We provide bands and musicians for hundreds of charity events every year and we're here to help you find the right band at the right budget so please do get in touch for advice.
