Can I choose what music the DJ will play?
Our DJs are always happy to tailor the music they play to suit the type of event or musical taste. With access to an almost unlimited number of tracks through modern streaming services, it’s easier than ever to have the music you want to be played at your event. Rest assured that prior to your event, you’ll be able to liaise with your DJ to discuss the playlist.
Will the DJ be able to play requests on the night?
Our DJs come with a huge database of popular music and can usually find just about any song that comes to mind. If there’s a secure and stable WIFI connection at the venue, they'll also have access to more niche requests using online streaming services.
For DJs that use traditional decks or vinyl rather than a laptop, making requests might be a little more difficult as they’ll be limited by what records they bring.
How long will the DJ play?
DJs are happy to quote for bespoke packages based on the event or schedule. For weddings, typically, a period of approximately 4 hours would suffice. Smaller and extended booking periods are also available and can be discussed during the enquiry process.
How much should I expect to pay?
For a DJ to perform for a few hours in the evening, expect to find quotes around the £500-700 mark. For more specialist or well-known DJs, expect prices to creep up to the £1000+ mark.
DJ prices do vary depending on travel, location and equipment requirements. Find our more about the cost of a wedding DJ on our blog.
How much space do they need?
We often suggest a space of 2 x 2 meters squared be made available.
How much time do they need to set up?
It takes 30 minutes to an hour to set up and be ready for the party.
Can I book additional musicians to play alongside my DJ?
Most of our DJs work alongside musicians and can perform sets together. Some popular options include adding Sax, Electric Violin and Vocals.
If you’re looking for a band that features both live musicians and a DJ, then check out our DJ Live page for further information.
Will they bring a DJ booth and lighting?
Included as standard, you’ll find that most DJs provide a dedicated booth covered in cloth and some basic lighting. In some instances, there will be options for upgrades, such as wireless lighting packages and LED backdrops.
It's worth noting that some specialist DJs provide their laptop and decks only. In these circumstances, we can advise on what other equipment you'll need to hire in.
My venue has a sound limiter, will that be a problem?
Not at all. All DJs can work with sound limiters without issue and can easily control their volume to suit any particular venue's requirements.
Will I need to provide equipment for the DJ?
Most DJs come self-contained with everything they need to perform (PA and mixing desk). However, some DJs only provide their laptop or controller and would need any audio equipment provided on their behalf.
