About
Blue Moon Orchestra brings together musicians from across Europe in a polished string ensemble with percussion. The orchestra usually performs with 17 musicians and can be expanded for larger-scale works or events.
Its repertoire is agreed for each occasion and can span classical favourites, film music, musical theatre and orchestral arrangements of pop and rock songs. Recent programmes have included music by Mozart, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky and Sibelius alongside Cinema Paradiso, Pirates of the Caribbean, Take on Me, Mr Brightside and Kashmir.
The orchestra's musicians have performed individually or collectively with artists including Peter Gabriel, Kula Shaker, Dr. Hook, The Heavy, Newton Faulkner and The Divine Comedy. Their wider experience covers concerts, theatre productions, band recordings and television and advertising soundtracks, with performances available for events across the UK and Europe.
