Suffolk Wedding Band Booking Guide

We understand that hiring a wedding band for the first time can feel a little daunting, which is why our team of live entertainment experts have put together the following booking guide to answer some of the most popular queries. If you're looking for some friendly advice, please feel free to drop us an email or give us a call and one of our team will be happy to help.

How much does a Suffolk wedding band cost to hire?

The wedding bands we work with charge a basic starting rate of anywhere between £1000 - £1500 for a 3-piece or 4-piece band.

All of our function bands offer a tailor-made quote, specific to your event. The main factors that can affect the price include the number of musicians in the band and the travelling distance/time.

What's included in the band's fee?

To keep things simple, our bands offer an all-inclusive package to cover everything you'll need on the day. Every quote is different, but in general you can expect an evening wedding band to offer the following package:

  • Set up and soundcheck from 5:30 pm/6 pm
  • 2 x 60 minute or 3 x 40 minute live sets
  • DJ Playlists throughout the evening
  • Professional sound system (PA system, speakers etc.)
  • Lighting rig
  • Public Liability Insurance
  • PAT tested equipment

Many bands also offer a number of extras such as early setup times, late finish times, professional DJ service, afternoon acoustic sets, ceremony music.

Can my Suffolk wedding band offer a DJ package?

Absolutely, whilst all of our evening wedding bands include free mp3 playlists throughout the evening in their fee, many bands also offer a professional DJ package.

A DJ package typically involves a member of the band mixing tracks on a laptop, making announcements and taking song requests on the night.

Will the band learn our first dance song?

All of our Suffolk bands will be more than happy to learn and perform your first dance song. We'll need to run your song past the band to check that it's suitable for their line-up, so please let us know in advance.

Most bands will learn one new song free of charge, but please note that some bands do charge a small fee to cover their rehearsal expenses.

What type of music do your Suffolk wedding bands perform?

All of our wedding music bands cover a wide variety of genres including swing, rock 'n' roll, soul & Motown, indie, rock, pop and contemporary chart hits.

From old school rock 'n' roll legends to modern pop, r&B and hip hop artists, our bands have got something for everyone. So whether you're into classic hits from The Beatles, Queen and Bowie or modern indie anthems from the likes of The Killers, Kings of Leon and Mumford and Sons, you'll be sure to find the right style of music to suit your style.

Our wedding bands are constantly updating their setlists to keep up with the times, adding the latest hits from big-name artists such as Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd and many, many more.

How many musicians are there in a wedding band?

Our most popular bands usually feature at least three musicians. Below are some of the most common line-ups we work with:

  • 3-piece indie rock party band: Lead Vocals/Guitar, Bass, Drums
  • 4-piece function band: Vocals/Guitar, Keys, Bass, Drums
  • 5-piece band: Vocals/Guitar, Keys, Bass, Sax, Drums
  • 5-piece: Male Vocals/Guitar, Female Vocals, Keys, Bass, Drums
  • 6-piece: Male Vocals/Guitar, Female Vocals, Keys, Bass, Sax, Drums
  • 7-piece party band: 2 x Vocals, Keys, Bass, Drums, 2-piece horn section

Of course, there are no limits if your venue has the space! We represent wedding bands that can offer an incredible line-up of 12 or more members to include multiple vocalists, percussion and choreographed dancers for an explosive live performance.

What time will the band arrive to set up?

Wedding bands usually base their quote on a standard arrival time of approximately 5:30 pm/6 pm. If the band are setting up in a separate room to the meal and speeches, they'll be able to set up straight away. Otherwise, the band will usually wait until the meal and speeches have finished avoiding any interruptions.

What time will the band start their sets?

Our wedding bands in Suffolk are always happy to work around your schedule. As a general rule, we recommend that the band starts no earlier than 8:30pm/9pm to avoid peaking too early on in the evening.

How long does a wedding band take to set up?

Function bands typically take around an hour to set up and sound check. If you've booked a large party band, you may need to allow between 90 minutes to 2 hours.

Where in Suffolk do your bands perform?

Bands For Hire Reviews
★★★★★

Thank you to the band for their efforts on Saturday, Anna and John’s day went really well and I know they had a fabulous time. The Mesh Band were really friendly and helpful so please do pass on my thanks. The dance floor was full at the time I left so everyone was obviously enjoying the music. Thanks for all the prompt and efficient communication too, that is always so helpful in the lead up to a wedding. I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending them in the future to any of my clients looking for a live band.
