If this is the first time you've hired a wedding band, you're bound to have lots of questions. That's why it's good to know our team of wedding professionals are on hand to advise and assist you at every stage of your booking. In the meantime, we've put together the following FAQs to guide you through the basics.
How much does a Liverpool wedding band cost to hire?
We offer a range of Liverpool wedding bands to cater for every budget. As an example, our 3-piece function bands start at approximately £1000-£1200 and you'll find prices generally increase for larger bands and line-ups.
Some of the other factors that can affect the price of a wedding band include travel expenses, accommodation, early arrival times, late finish times and the time of the year.
What's included in the price?
Each and every one of our Liverpool party bands comes fully equipped with a professional sound system (PA System), lighting and free DJ playlist music between sets, so you won't need to worry about a thing.
All of our bands also carry full public liability insurance with up-to-date PAT certificates for their equipment.
Function bands typically quote based on a 5:30pm/6pm set-up time and will be with you until midnight. If your event runs a little later than this, please just let me know and we'll quote accordingly.
Do your Liverpool wedding bands offer a DJ service?
Every Liverpool covers band we work with will provide free DJ playlists throughout the evening to keep the party atmosphere in full flow. The band can either use their standard wedding playlists, or you're welcome to supply your own.
If you'd prefer something a little more hands-on, many of our wedding music bands also offer an optional DJ service for a small extra fee. A DJ service usually involves a member of the band mixing songs and taking requests throughout the night - a space-saving and cost-effective way to enhance your evening's entertainment.
How many musicians are there in a function band?
We represent an extensive range of wedding bands suitable for wedding venues of every size. Whether you're looking for a high-energy indie rock band, a 4-piece band featuring keys and vocals or a larger soul band with a brass section, you'll find the perfect line-up to suit your requirements.
Below are some of the most popular line-ups we offer:
- 3-piece band: Lead Vocals/Guitar, Bass, Drums
- 4-piece band: Vocals/Guitar, Keys, Bass, Drums
- 5-piece band: Vocals/Guitar, Keys, Bass, Sax, Drums
- 5-piece: Male Vocals/Guitar, Female Vocals, Keys, Bass, Drums
- 6-piece band: Male Vocals/Guitar, Female Vocals, Keys, Bass, Sax, Drums
- 7-piece band: 2 x Vocals, Keys, Bass, Drums, 2-piece horn section
Many of our Liverpool wedding bands can also alter their line ups to suit your budget and venue requirements. For larger weddings, our Motown bands, soul and funk bands can add additional vocalists and musicians.
For more intimate weddings, these can be stripped down to solo guitarists, pianists, jazz trios or acoustic duos - ideal for your wedding ceremony or drinks reception.
Will our wedding band learn the first dance song?
Absolutely! Our wedding bands will be more than happy to learn a first dance song that suits their line-up and sound. If you have something g particular in mind, please feel free to let us know during the enquiry process and we'll confirm that the song is suitable.
Most bands will learn and perform your first dance free of charge, although please be aware that some bands may charge a small fee to cover their rehearsal and studio time.
What time will the band arrive to set up?
Wedding bands usually base their quote on a standard arrival time of approximately 5:30 pm/6 pm. If the band are setting up in a separate room to the meal and speeches, they'll be able to set up straight away. Otherwise, the band will usually wait until the meal and speeches have finished avoiding any interruptions.
What time will the band start their sets?
Our wedding bands in the North West are always happy to fit in with your schedule. As a rule, we recommend that the band starts no earlier than 8:30 pm/9 pm to avoid peaking too early on in the evening.
How long does a wedding band take to set up?
Function bands typically take around an hour to set up and sound check. If you've booked a large party band, you may need to allow between 90 minutes to 2 hours.
Our wedding venue has a sound limiter, will this be an issue?
Many wedding venues now have sound limiters installed in order to keep the volume down. Whilst bands generally prefer to perform without these restrictions, the majority of bands are able to adjust their set up to ensure they don't go over a certain sound level.
If your wedding venue has a sound limiter, please just let us know in your enquiry so that we can ensure the band are able to accommodate the venue's terms and conditions.
What type of music do wedding bands play?
Our wedding bands have years of experience in the industry and have put together a diverse repertoire of music that will appeal to guests of all ages. With a set list of party classics that includes soul, Motown, hip hop, indie rock and modern pop music, you'll be sure to find something that fits your style.
If you're looking for something a little unique, we have a whole host of alternative wedding bands to consider including 80s tribute bands, 90s dance bands, indie wedding bands, Mariachi bands and much more.
